Book Club October Review: Alchemised by SenLinYu
I thought my fan fiction days were over, but when I saw the huge hype around a Dramione fan fiction called Manacled being traditionally published, I was obviously curious. Seems like nothing, not even time and leaving fan spaces, could deter me from going back to my roots. My initial curiosity, mixed with people's opinion on TikTok insisting that Manacled destroyed them as well as the beautiful, gothic cover art, made me choose Alchemised by SenLinYu for October's book club

Book Club July Review: Don't Let Him In by Lisa Jewell
After attending Lisa Jewell's book launch event hosted by Waterstones, I was so excited to read this book. Especially as CY talked so highly of Lisa Jewell's other books, in particular The Family Upstairs . Don't Let Him In follows a series of women, most notably Ash, Nina and Martha, who unwittingly become entangled in the unravelling of a dark and twisted tale. It also follows the handsome and charming Nick, who enters Nina and Ash's lives suddenly and seems to be the perfe

ARC Book Review: The Bewitching by Silvia Moreno-Garcia
Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Del Rey for the advanced reader copy! When I first saw this book on NetGalley, what piqued my interest was the cover and the blurb. I love horror, and recently I’ve been interested in stories about witches, so this came at the perfect time. Then I realised it was by the same author who wrote Mexican Gothic (a book I’ve been wanting to read for a while), and I was even more grateful to receive the ARC. The Bewitching

ARC Book Review: How to Survive a Horror Story by Mallory Arnold
Thank you to NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for the advanced reader copy! After picking up yet another horror novel, I have finally come to a realisation as to why I've been gravitating towards this genre recently. My brother traumatised me as a child by forcing me to watch horror movies with him (we're talking about Jeepers Creepers and A Nightmare on Elm Street ), and whilst I don't think I could ever go back to watching horror again (unless I close my eyes for half the
